Online training of Fire Safety Officers

Online Training for Fire Safety Officers is intended for persons appointed by employers to organise, coordinate and monitor compliance with fire safety requirements at workplaces and operating sites in Bulgaria.

The training is based primarily on Bulgarian Ordinance No. 8121з-647 of 1 October 2014 on fire safety rules and standards during the operation of sites and also addresses the relevant requirements of Ordinance No. RD-07-2 of 16 December 2009 concerning occupational health and safety training and instruction.

Access: 60 days to the lectures, training materials and online test.

Test: minimum score of 75% to pass.

Who is a Fire Safety Officer?

A Fire Safety Officer is a person designated within the organisation to support the implementation, organisation and control of fire safety measures at the site. Depending on the company structure, these duties can be assigned to a manager, occupational health and safety specialist, facility manager, technical specialist or another suitably designated employee.

Main responsibilities of a Fire Safety Officer

  • supporting the organisation of fire safety activities at the site;
  • monitoring compliance with internal fire safety rules and procedures;
  • monitoring the condition and accessibility of evacuation routes and exits;
  • supporting the organisation of employee fire safety training and preparedness;
  • monitoring the availability and accessibility of portable fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment;
  • supporting evacuation and emergency procedures;
  • monitoring compliance with restrictions concerning smoking, open flames and hot work;
  • supporting the maintenance of the required fire safety documentation.

The course covers the legal, organisational and practical requirements related to fire safety at operating sites in Bulgaria. The training materials include:

Legal basis for the training

Ordinance No. 8121з-647 of 1 October 2014

Ordinance No. 8121з-647 establishes the fire safety rules and standards applicable during the operation of sites in Bulgaria.

The Ordinance covers the organisation of fire safety, internal rules, emergency and evacuation arrangements, preparation of personnel and the designation of officials responsible for organising and monitoring compliance with fire safety requirements.

Ordinance No. RD-07-2 of 16 December 2009

Ordinance No. RD-07-2 regulates occupational health and safety training and instruction. Fire prevention, actions in the event of fire and safe evacuation form part of the occupational health and safety knowledge required at the workplace.

Where the designated Fire Safety Officer also performs another role covered by Ordinance No. RD-07-2, the training frequency applicable to that additional role is determined by the relevant provision of the Ordinance.

Important: Article 6(1)(4) of Ordinance No. RD-07-2 does not specifically regulate Fire Safety Officers. It concerns members of Working Conditions Committees and Groups. This course is primarily based on the fire safety requirements applicable to the operation of sites.

3. Payment Choose advance payment, cash on delivery or payment and collection from our office.
4. Activation For advance payment, access is activated immediately after payment is received. For the other two options, the course can be activated without advance payment.
5. Training and certificate Study the training materials and complete the online test. After successful completion, the certificate is issued.

Payment methods

A proforma invoice containing the payment details is provided.

Payment can be made by bank transfer, through ePay, EasyPay or another payment method that allows payment using the details stated on the proforma invoice.

After payment is received, access to the training is activated immediately by the ZBUT.BG team.

2. Cash on delivery

You can start the training without advance payment.

After successful completion, the original certificate is sent by courier with cash on delivery. The training is paid for when the shipment is received.

With this option, the certificate is not sent in advance by email.

3. Payment and collection from the office

You can start the training without advance payment. After successful completion, payment is made and the original certificate is collected in person from the office of Medical Consulting Ltd.

Courier costs are paid by the participant whenever documents are sent by courier.
